UT Tyler Medical Education Building – In Process

The University of Texas at Tyler Medical Education Building (MEB) is set to transform healthcare education in East Texas. This state-of-the-art, five-story, nearly 248,000-square-foot facility will serve as the hub for UT Tyler’s new School of Medicine, becoming the 7th medical school within the University of Texas System. The building’s design is inspired by the urgent need for highly skilled healthcare professionals in the region, positioning it as a cornerstone for the next generation of medical education.

To bring this vision to life, KSC partnered with Skanska, HGR, and Fitzpatrick Architects to design, fabricate, and install a custom 54,000-square-foot façade system. Featuring ACM and perforated aluminum plate, KSC utilized its KSC 3000 and EFS 1000 systems to seamlessly merge functionality and design while meeting the project’s architectural and sustainability goals.

“This is an enormous milestone for UT Tyler and for all of East Texas,” said UT Tyler President Kirk A. Calhoun, MD, FACP. “We are excited to take the next step in creating a physical home for the School of Medicine.”

Upon completion, the Medical Education Building will not only enhance the profile of UT Tyler but also address critical healthcare workforce needs. This landmark project embodies innovation, sustainability, and collaboration, paving the way for the future of medical education in East Texas.
