The Vista At C.C. Young
We had the opportunity to help with Phase 1 of multiphase, strategic master plan for C.C. Youngʼs 250,00 SF, nine-story, senior living community in East Dallas with project partners Hill & Wilkinson and D2 Architects. For the project, we designed, fabricated and installed one thousand unique custom-rusted metal aluminum panels to mesh with the surroundings at White Rock Lake.
The design required one thousand unique panels – all different sizes fastened in a running bond pattern. A running bond pattern created with aluminum composite is challenging because it increases the complexity of the fabrication. We were able to work very closely with the architect to implement the vision.
Given the tight installation deadline, limited accessibility to some of the materials needed for design posed another challenge. The integration of multiple systems within a relatively small area demanded crucial alignment with joinery and the lining up of parts.
KSC was brought on board for this project early on in 2016. The project was completed in 2018. The on-site installation was just 8-12 weeks. All of the components were fabricated at the shop, shipped and erected immediately.
