The Fifth

Originally slated to be used as part of a luxury, mixed-use development in Des Moines, The Fifth parking garage is now a stunning addition to the heart of downtown and is accessible to the public. Located at the intersection of 5th and Walnut streets along the skywalk system, the 11-story garage measures over 300,500 SF and can accommodate 750 cars.

KSC worked with project partners Solomon Cordwell Buenz and The Weitz Company to craft a completely custom decorative screen that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. When the timeline became an important issue for the team, KSC completed off-site fabrication of the 8 ft x 40 ft extruded aluminum panels used to create the 21,000 SF garage screen.

Working through the entire project process from design, to BIM and laser scanning, custom fabrication, all the way to installation – KSC was the perfect partner needed to complete this job.
