TCC at Legacy

As part of its 18.5-acre planned office campus in Plano, Trammell Crow Company’s first-of-four buildings is now complete with the new TCC at Legacy tower. Now part of the Legacy business park, KSC worked with HKS and Balfour Beatty to deliver a state-of-the-art Class AA office building meant to become a pharmaceutical company’s new headquarters.

Inspired by other TCC buildings in the area, the first tower of this new development had to fit the polish and panache of its surrounding environment. This need not only included creating a stunning building, but also for KSC to craft an attached 60,500 SF parking structure that would complement the tower and not deter from its sleek, modern design.

In addition to design and material procurement, KSC had to pay special attention to the construction of the garage due to load-carrying embeds that had to be cast as part of the concrete supporting structure. KSC collaborated with its’ structural engineer and multiple trades throughout this coordination to ensure accuracy.

The end result? A Kalzip perforated metal garage screen, Alpolic ACM panels, and architectural louvers. As trade experts, KSC provided recommendations about materials, prefabrication, and installation throughout the entire building process. The perforated panels utilized for the garage screen provided the exact aesthetic and practical advantages that were needed for the project which included solving for elevation issues, allowing for both air and light infiltration, and even design flexibility. ACM was the perfect choice for the project’s KSC 2100 ventilated rain-screen exterior as it meets even the most stringent performance standards while still providing superior aesthetics with no exposed fasteners.

KSC was an integral partner in creating the architectural screen utilized for this stunning project. It’s not every day that a design can come together so seamlessly without sacrificing the structural integrity of the project. However, the façade of the garage does just that for the TCC at Legacy project and resulted in a stunning addition to the growing North Texas business hub.

Our work on TCC at Legacy was selected as both a 2022 TEXO Distinguished Building Award winner in the specialty contractor, exterior category and an AGC-Texas Building Branch Outstanding Construction Award winner in the same category for all contract amounts.
