AACD – Northeast Lakeview

Northeast Lakeview College was established in 2007 and serves more than 6,500 students in northeast San Antonio, Bexar, Comal, and Guadalupe Counties. It is the newest of five Alamo Colleges, with the new STEM building being the college’s tenth campus facility. The structure was built with intent to be a home to classrooms, labs, study spaces, academic support, and a 3rd-floor multipurpose room. The facility will also provide space so that the college can expand its career and technical programs.

The KSC team worked hand-in-hand with Turner Construction Company and Ford Powell & Carson to ideate and design site specific drawings for the new STEM building in accordance with the architectural plans. We also used 3D laser scanning to accurately measure the structure and create the final aluminum composite material product with CNC machining.

With an eye tailored towards the college’s vision, the KSC team was able to assist in maximizing the workspace that provides a learning space for students. With the addition of new spaces like these, Alamo Colleges can expand their services and program offerings, and it allows them to serve more students than ever before. “With this comes more opportunities to innovate and more chances to impact student success,” said Marcelo Casillas, Alamo Colleges District board chairman.
